Violetta Takes the Bus

What happens when opera's Violetta boards a bus - seconds before she falls helplessly for Alfredo? She is dying, but now she wants to live. Violetta from Verdi's La Traviata is one of the passengers, and as familiar places pass by outside the bus window, she sings out her pain and longing.

The opera platform SAD GIRLS creates together with Riksteatern an opera where Verdi's melodies meet a contemporary electronic soundscape with newly composed music by Joel Janson Johansen and a newly written libretto by Sanna Strandberg Colling. Performance length: 1 hour.
