Violetta Takes the Bus

What happens when opera's Violetta boards a bus - seconds before she falls helplessly for Alfredo? She is dying, but wants to live. In this production, Violetta from Verdi's La Traviata is one of the passengers, and as familiar places pass by the bus window, she sings out her pain and longing.

The opera platform SAD GIRLS and Riksteatern create together an intimate opera where Verdi's melodies meet an electronic soundscape with newly composed music by Joel Janson Johansen and a new libretto by Sanna Strandberg Colling. Performance length: 1 hour.
