Violetta Takes the Bus

What happens when Violetta from the opera world steps onto a bus - seconds before she falls helplessly for Alfredo? She is terminally ill, but now she wants to live. Violetta from Verdi's La Traviata is one of the passengers, and as familiar places pass by outside the bus window, she sings out her pain and longing.

The opera platform SAD GIRLS creates together with Riksteatern an opera that cuts close to the heart, where Verdi's melodies meet a contemporary electronic soundscape with new music by Joel Janson Johansen and a new libretto by Sanna Strandberg Colling.
