Violetta Takes the Bus

What happens when opera's Violetta boards a bus - seconds before she falls hopelessly for Alfredo? She is dying, but now she wants to live. As familiar places pass by the bus window, she sings out her pain and longing.

The opera platform SAD GIRLS creates an intimate opera together with Riksteatern, where Verdi's melodies meet a contemporary electronic soundscape. The music is newly composed by composer and arranger Joel Janson Johansen, and the concept and new libretto are by Sanna Strandberg Colling. Performance length: 1 hour.
