InTension

In InTension we encounter Rebecca Livaniou in a dance solo that moves in multiple directions simultaneously, without revealing its logic in advance. Inspired by hip-hop's battle scene - where something is at stake in every moment - she creates a physical monologue where each movement carries its own energy and charge. Just beneath the surface lies an inner movement, where contradictions and subtle shifts make themselves felt, and moods gradually shift toward a more ambiguous state. It is not about winning over someone else, but about overcoming one's own doubts and claiming space - in front of others and in front of oneself.

Rebecca Livaniou has danced in works by Cullberg and choreographer Lisa Janbell. InTension is her first stage solo production, created in close collaboration with music producer Kevin Wedin/12Twelve, costume designer Amanda Wisselgren, and lighting designer Thabiso Kubheka Persson.

The performance is a collaboration between Riksteatern and Rebecca Livaniou, with support from Konstnärsnämnden. Duration: 45 min.
