A Tribute to Lars Gullin

Lars Gullin (1928-1976) - composer, arranger, and baritone saxophonist - ranks among the most significant jazz musicians in Swedish history. This concert pays tribute to his music, conducted by Johan Siberg, who also arranged most of the pieces.

Per "Texas" Johansson performs as soloist, a multiple Grammy and Swedish Grammy Award winner. Singer Emmalisa Hallander, recipient of both the Monica Zetterlund and Alice Babs scholarships, also participates - her latest album was named one of the year's best by SvD and Jazzradion on P2.

The concert is part of Umeå Jazzfestival 2026 and takes place at Umeå Folkets Hus. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 29, with the first 200 purchases receiving early bird pricing on two-day passes (Friday and Saturday). Tickets and information are available through Umeå Biljettcentrum.
