Manon

A great French opera classic about the irresistible Manon - a woman who dares to choose everything. We follow her from the day she is sent to a convent as a young woman to her final steps in life, through a story filled with desire, love, decadence and hypocrisy - and the choice between self-determination and security.

Manon is a French grand opéra in the same late-Romantic style as Massenet's later works such as Thaïs. The music is French elegance and richly nuanced, with grand choral scenes that capture Manon's zest for life, passion, tenderness and doubt.

The production is directed by Eirik Stubø, known for his ability to craft psychologically complex characters.
