Göteborg Baroque Presents: Handel's Messiah
Göteborg Baroque performs Handel's Messiah - one of the most celebrated works in the Baroque repertoire - as part of the ensemble's cherished Christmas tradition at Christinae Church.
A quote from Carl Magnus Juliusson's review in Göteborgs-Posten in 2019 captures what distinguishes the ensemble: "There is nothing to hide behind. Everything is heard. And it becomes as naked and personal as it can be. Each solo performance is clear and heartfelt, and the harmony among the ten singers is perfect." The review concerned the ensemble's performance of Buxtehude's Membra Jesu Nostri during their 15th anniversary celebration.
Göteborg Baroque was founded in 2003 by Magnus Kjellson, who leads the ensemble as a performing conductor at the organ or harpsichord.
