Witch Hillary Goes to the Opera

Witch Hillary Goes to the Opera is a playful introduction to opera, recommended for families with children aged 5-10.

Witch Hillary encounters a word she has never heard before: "opera". It seems to be something where people sing all the time. She conjures up the singer Maria Bellacanta, who takes her - and the audience - on a journey into the world of opera. The story weaves together pieces from The Magic Flute, The Cobbler, Hansel and Gretel, and other famous operas and operettas that have been performed at Göteborg Opera since its opening. Hillary asks questions that Maria happily answers, sometimes with the help of the mouse Musician.

Hillary also participates in the competition "Best Spell Backwards". There is a short film, "Write Your Best Spell", which can be watched together with the children before the visit.
