Solo Recital Diploma Sten Ulloa Carler (Piano) | Musikhögskolan i Malmö

Pianist Sten Ulloa Carler performs his solo diploma recital at Musikhögskolan i Malmö with a programme that alternates between classics of piano literature and newly composed works by young Swedish composers. The programme includes Beethoven's final piano sonata op. 111 and music by Robert Schumann.

Sten Ulloa Carler (b. 1997) is a Swedish-Chilean pianist who grew up in Chile, where he also began his piano studies. He subsequently studied in Sweden at Södra Latin gymnasium in Stockholm, at Musikhögskolan Ingesund with Julia Mustonen-Dahlkvist (bachelor's degree 2019), at the Paris Conservatoire (CNSMDP) with Roger Muraro and Isabelle Dubuis, and at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm/Edsberg with Mats Widlund (master's degree). He is currently completing his studies with a solo diploma at Musikhögskolan i Malmö with Francisca Skoogh and Tuija Hakkila.

As a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed in Sweden, the rest of Europe, and South America. He has won several competitions, including first prize at the Chilean national competition Certamen Flora Guerra 2018 and a prize at the Malmö Yamaha Piano Competition 2024. He has received scholarships from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, the Gålö Foundation, the Jubel Fund, the Forssius Foundation, and the Meyer Foundation. In March 2026, he made his debut as a soloist with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra in Prokofiev's third piano concerto.
