The Svante Söderqvist Trio meets Swedish-Estonian accordionist Tuulikki Bartosik in a project blending classical jazz, folk music and experimental sound design.
Adam Forkelid (born 1979) is a Stockholm-based jazz pianist and composer who has been a central figure in the Scandinavian jazz scene for over two decades. Trained at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm - where he later served as head teacher of jazz piano from 2017 to 2021 - he leads several ensembles, most notably the quartet Adam Forkelid 1st Movement, and is also a member of the Svante Söderqvist Trio. His music draws on a wide range of influences, from Chopin and Satie to Chick Corea, and is often described as 'New Nordic Jazz'.
Italian jazz magazine Musica Jazz published an in-depth interview with Forkelid in February 2026, focusing on his approach to improvisation and solo performance.
The solo album 'Dreams' received a physical CD release on the Prophone label on 1 February 2026.
Forkelid's solo album 'Dreams' - a live recording from Krematoriet, Stockholm, October 2024 - was released digitally in October 2025 to international critical acclaim.
Paris Move rated 'Dreams' 'Indispensable' and called it the album that may fully reveal Forkelid's artistry to the wider world.
The quartet album 'Turning Point', featuring guitarist Carl Mörner Ringström, was released in May 2024 on the Prophone label.
