About

Adam Forkelid (born 1979) is a Stockholm-based jazz pianist and composer who has been a central figure in the Scandinavian jazz scene for over two decades. Trained at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm - where he later served as head teacher of jazz piano from 2017 to 2021 - he leads several ensembles, most notably the quartet Adam Forkelid 1st Movement, and is also a member of the Svante Söderqvist Trio. His music draws on a wide range of influences, from Chopin and Satie to Chick Corea, and is often described as 'New Nordic Jazz'.
