Alain Johannes (born May 2, 1962 in Santiago, Chile) is a Chilean-American multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and producer who co-founded the alternative rock band Eleven with his late wife Natasha Shneider. Over four decades he has recorded and toured with Queens of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures, Chris Cornell, PJ Harvey and Arctic Monkeys - as musician, engineer and producer - making him one of the most quietly influential figures in California rock.
Alain Johannes released 'Drink the Sea I' on September 19, 2025, the debut album of his new band Drink the Sea with Peter Buck (R.E.M.), Duke Garwood and Barrett Martin.
