About

Anthrax is an American thrash metal band from New York City, founded in 1981 by guitarist Scott Ian and bassist Dan Lilker. One of the genre's 'Big Four' alongside Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth - and the only East Coast band among them - they broke through with the 1987 album Among the Living and have since sold over 10 million records worldwide. The current lineup of Ian, vocalist Joey Belladonna, drummer Charlie Benante, bassist Frank Bello and guitarist Jonathan Donais has been together since 2010.
