Clemens Schuldt is a German conductor born in Bremen who won the Donatella Flick Conducting Competition in London in 2010, which led to a year as Assistant Conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra. He served as Chief Conductor of the Münchener Kammerorchester from 2016 to 2022, and since the 2023/24 season has been Music Director of the Orchestre symphonique de Québec - a post renewed in May 2026 through 2031. He is a regular guest with orchestras across Europe, Scandinavia and Asia, and also teaches conducting at the Conservatoire de Québec.
The Orchestre symphonique de Québec announced a four-year renewal of Schuldt's contract as Music Director, extending his tenure through at least 2031.
Schuldt made his debut at the Opéra de Québec conducting Puccini's La Bohème.
Schuldt made his debut with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra at the International Composers Festival.
In the 2025/26 season Schuldt returned to Malmö Symphony Orchestra and the Finnish Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra as guest conductor.
Schuldt presented the OSQ's 2025/26 season programme, which included the orchestra's first Beethoven Festival, drawing notably younger and more diverse audiences.
