Glen Hansard (born 21 April 1970, Dublin) is an Irish singer-songwriter, guitarist and actor who has led The Frames since 1990. He reached a global audience through the low-budget film Once (2007), in which he starred alongside Markéta Irglová - the pair won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for 'Falling Slowly' as The Swell Season. His 2015 solo album Didn't He Ramble earned a Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album, and he has continued releasing critically noted records, most recently the two-volume live set Don't Settle - Transmissions East & West (2026).
