About

Sophie Zelmani (born 12 February 1972 in Stockholm) is a Swedish singer-songwriter who broke through in 1995 with her self-titled debut - signed to Sony after mailing home-recorded demos, having never performed live. Her spare, melancholic folk-pop, built on acoustic guitar and her instantly recognisable voice, won her a Swedish Grammy for Best Newcomer and gold records in both Sweden and Japan. With 14 studio albums to her name and a loyal following across Europe and Asia, she remains one of the most consistent voices in Scandinavian music.
