Sunny War (born Sydney Lyndella Ward, 1990, Nashville) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist based in Los Angeles, known for weaving folk, blues, punk and gospel into a sound that is hard to pin to any single genre. She built her early following busking on the Venice Beach boardwalk, and her introspective fingerstyle guitar work draws on Delta blues tradition while her lyrics tackle addiction, poverty and social inequality. After several independent releases she signed to New West Records, where her 2023 album Anarchist Gospel earned universal acclaim on Metacritic, and her 2025 follow-up Armageddon in a Summer Dress - recorded in her late father's century-old house - extended that critical run.
