Mnozil Brass presents their spectacular show Strau$$ about Johann Strauss Jr. and the boundary between classical music and entertainment.
Thomas Gansch (born 31 December 1975 in St. Pölten) is an Austrian trumpeter, composer and entertainer based in Vienna. He co-founded the brass septet Mnozil Brass in 1992 while still a student at the University of Music and Performing Arts, and has played first trumpet in the group ever since. Beyond Mnozil, he led the jazz big band Gansch & Roses, played with the Vienna Art Orchestra from 1998 to 2006, and has collaborated with artists ranging from Wynton Marsalis to Patti Smith. He is also the designer of the 'Gansch Horn', a custom rotary-valve trumpet built by Austrian manufacturer Schagerl.
Gansch released 'Neat Little Songs' with the Zurich Jazz Orchestra (conducted by Ed Partyka) on Mons Records on 23 May 2025; the album consists entirely of his own compositions.
The Thomas Gansch Blasmusik Supergroup returned to Festspielhaus St. Pölten on 26 April 2026 due to popular demand.
The Thomas Gansch Blasmusik Supergroup released a live album 'Live in Concert' on VAM Records in 2024.
Gansch performed with the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra alongside conductor Ed Partyka at the Savoy Theatre in Helsinki.
