ZZ Top is a rock trio from Houston, Texas, formed in 1969, built around guitarist Billy F Gibbons, drummer Frank Beard, and - since bassist Dusty Hill's death in 2021 - Elwood Francis on bass. Their blues-drenched hard rock, instantly recognizable image, and relentless touring schedule have made them one of the longest-running acts in American rock. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, the band has sold over 60 million albums worldwide, with 1983's Eliminator earning Diamond certification.
