D-A-D was formed in Copenhagen in 1982 under the name Disneyland After Dark and achieved international breakthrough in 1989 with the album No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims, where the single Sleeping My Day Away brought the band global radio success.

The current lineup consists of Jesper Binzer, Jacob Binzer, Stig Pedersen and Laust Sonne. In 2025, the band released the live album Live From The Arena, recorded during their 40th anniversary concert at Royal Arena - 25 songs from their entire career.

D-A-D performs on Stora Scenen on 31 July as part of Liseberg's concert programme.

Forty-plus years after their Copenhagen debut, D-A-D still play hard rock on their own terms - brash riffs, sharp hooks and a live show that has always felt more like a party than a concert. Their 2024 double album Speed of Darkness shows the band writing with the same hunger as ever.

D-A-D released their 13th studio album Speed of Darkness on October 4, 2024 via AFM Records, a 14-track double album produced by Nick Foss and mastered by Jacob Hansen.

The band announced Speed of Darkness and launched a summer festival run of 24 concerts across Europe ahead of the album release.

D-A-D received their own exhibition at the National Museum of Denmark as part of their 40th anniversary celebrations.
