The Shining

The Shining arrives at Malmö Opera on Wednesday, 2 September 2026 at 19:00, where Peter Kajlinger presents Stephen King's classic horror novel as an opera. Malmö Opera is one of Sweden's largest opera houses, seating over 1,400 spectators and located on the Juutinrauma waterfront as one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. Two Pulitzer Prize winners, Paul Moravec and Mark Campbell, have created a psychological drama filled with unease and nightmarish visions. Admission costs 640 kronor, with bus transport included for members and an additional 100 kronor for others. Registration and payment by 1 August. Peter Kajlinger's Swedish tour comprises three performances in total.
