Violetta Takes the Bus

What happens if Violetta - seconds before she falls helplessly for Alfredo - boards a bus? She is terminally ill, but wants to live. In this production, Violetta from Verdi's La Traviata is one of the passengers, and as familiar places pass by the bus window, she sings out her pain and longing.

The opera platform SAD GIRLS creates together with Riksteatern an opera where Verdi's melodies meet an electronic soundscape with newly composed music by Joel Janson Johansen, based on a concept and new libretto by Sanna Strandberg Colling. Performance length: 1 hour.
