Violetta Takes the Bus

What happens when Violetta from Verdi's La Traviata boards a bus - seconds before she falls helplessly for Alfredo? She is dying, but wants to live. As familiar places pass by the bus window, she sings out her pain and longing.

The opera platform SAD GIRLS creates a production together with Riksteatern where Verdi's melodies meet an electronic soundscape with new music by Joel Janson Johansen and a new libretto by Sanna Strandberg Colling. Performance length: 1 hour.
