Detached from Others - Convoi Exceptionnel / Jon R Skulberg

Detached from Others is a musical and choreographic work in which Jon R. Skulberg and dancer Kenzo Kusuda explore the solitary body through organ music. Kusuda embodies the ambivalence of loneliness - the tension between chosen isolation and an involuntary sense of disconnection from the world.

The organ music is composed by Lil Lacy, who approaches the organ as a solitary instrument, isolated in a room with its own acoustic character. In the work, the organ encounters itself in multiple recorded layers that are mixed together in a quadrophonic sound system. The organist is David Bendix Nielsen. The music is recorded and mixed by sound producer Preben Iwan, the costume is created by fashion designer Koh Taniguchi, and the dramaturgy is developed in collaboration with Astrid Hansen Holm.

The performance is created in collaboration between Jon R. Skulberg, artistic director of Convoi Exceptionnel, and composer Lil Lacy.
