Violetta Takes the Bus

What happens when Violetta from the opera world boards a bus - seconds before she falls helplessly for Alfredo? She is dying, but wants to live. In this production, Violetta from Verdi's La Traviata is one of all the passengers, and as familiar places pass by outside the bus window, she sings out her pain and her longing.

The opera platform SAD GIRLS creates together with Riksteatern an opera that touches the heart, where Verdi's melodies meet a contemporary electronic soundscape. The music is newly composed and arranged by composer and arranger Joel Janson Johansen, with a new libretto by Sanna Strandberg Colling.
