Craig Finn is an American singer-songwriter from Minneapolis, best known as the frontman of indie rock band The Hold Steady, with whom he has recorded nine studio albums. Described by Pitchfork as "a born storyteller who's chosen rock as his medium," his lyrics draw on literary influences - from Jack Kerouac to John Berryman - to sketch vivid portraits of everyday Americans. Alongside The Hold Steady, he has built a parallel solo career since 2012, releasing six albums that trade the band's bar-room roar for a more atmospheric, keyboard-driven sound.
