Jean-Efflam Bavouzet (born 1962 in Lannion, France) is a French classical pianist who studied at the Paris Conservatoire under Pierre Sancan and went on to win the International Beethoven Competition in Cologne in 1986. He records exclusively for Chandos, where his complete Debussy and Ravel cycles, along with his Prokofiev concerto recordings, have earned him multiple Gramophone Awards. A regular soloist with orchestras from the Cleveland to the BBC Symphony, he is also International Chair in Piano at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
Bavouzet released 'Ravel: Complete Works for Solo Piano' on Chandos, praised by Gramophone Magazine for its 'seasoned mastery, stylish perception and caring commitment to [the] repertoire.'
Bavouzet performed the complete works of Ravel in recital at over twenty venues during Ravel's 150th anniversary year.
Bavouzet issued the 11th volume of his Mozart piano concerto cycle on Chandos.
Bavouzet's 2025/26 orchestral season includes collaborations with the Queensland, Trondheim, Aalborg and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestras, as well as Staatskapelle Weimar.
Bavouzet served as the 2025-26 Mildred Levinson Piano Artist-in-Residence at New England Conservatory.
