King Parrot are an Australian grindcore band from Melbourne, formed in 2010 by vocalist Matt Young and guitarist Ari White. Blending grindcore, thrash metal, death metal and hardcore punk into a sound entirely their own, they have built a reputation as one of the most ferocious live acts in extreme metal. Their fourth album, A Young Person's Guide to King Parrot (2025), was their first full-length in eight years and drew wide critical praise.
King Parrot launched a two-and-a-half-month North American summer tour on July 25, 2025, including support slots on the Pantera and Amon Amarth 'Heaviest Tour of the Summer'.
The band's fourth studio album, A Young Person's Guide to King Parrot, was released on June 6, 2025 via Housecore Records - their first full-length since 2017.
King Parrot released the single 'Look Away I'm Hideous' in April 2025, accompanied by an animated video, ahead of the album launch.
King Parrot toured Europe in February 2025 as support for Pantera and Power Trip, playing cities including London, Paris and Dublin.
Drummer Todd Hansen departed the band in April 2025 after more than a decade; Max Dangerfield joined as his replacement.
