Winter Dreams

MSO and conductor Ariane Matiakh invite the audience into a dream world of living nature and mythical beings.

Lili Boulanger's "D'un matin de printemps" depicts how the morning sun awakens the garden to life - composed during what would be her final spring, before she died at just 24 years old. Piotr Tchaikovsky, who both feared and loved the Russian landscape, lets melancholic melodies wander restlessly through the symphony Winter Dreams.
