About

Opeth is a progressive metal band from Stockholm, formed in 1990, whose music weaves death metal, acoustic passages, jazz and classical influences into long, dynamically shifting compositions. Led throughout by vocalist and guitarist Mikael Åkerfeldt, the band has released fourteen studio albums and built a devoted global following. Their 2001 album Blackwater Park - co-produced with Steven Wilson - is widely regarded as a landmark of the genre, and their 2024 album The Last Will and Testament won the Swedish Grammis for Best Hard Rock/Metal.
