Violetta Takes the Bus

What happens when Violetta from the opera world steps onto a bus - seconds before she falls helplessly for Alfredo? She is dying, but now she wants to live. Violetta from Verdi's La Traviata is one of all the passengers, and as familiar places pass by outside the bus window, she sings out her pain and her longing.

The opera platform SAD GIRLS creates together with Riksteatern an opera where Verdi's melodies meet a contemporary electronic soundscape with newly composed music by Joel Janson Johansen, and a newly written libretto by Sanna Strandberg Colling. Performance length: 1 hour.
